Did you know that it was around this time last year that I decided to give this blog thing a try? Yup, one of my very first posts was from St. Patrick’s Day!
In Suffolk County, St. Patrick’s Day is also known as Evacuation Day, which celebrates the day that the British forces evacuated Boston in the American Revolution. To make it short: I have no school today, and we furloughed a day tomorrow so I have a four day weekend!
Today I am heading down the Warren Tavern to have a few drinks and listen to Jack spin some Irish tunes!
Over the years I have been involved in many a St. Patrick’s Day festivities:
Good times
It became a mini tradition with my Auntie Erin and cousin Carney to head to NYC for the parade each year. One year we went down to Florida for some sunnier weather. And EVERY year Garden Club celebrates with its annual St. Patrick’s Day party.
What is your St. Patrick’s day tradition?
A little Irish saying to brighten your day:
“Always remember to forget
The troubles that passed away.
But never forget to remember
The blessings that come each day.”
Have a good day!
